Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September. It celebrates workers’ rights to campaign for better working conditions or pay.

The Kamloops & District Labour Council represents approximately 13,000 unionized workers from many different types of unions in the Kamloops area covering Merritt to Valemount and Chase to Lillooet.

We usually sponsor a Labour Day Picnic to celebrate and raise awareness on the importance of unions.

This year we’re going to be doing a similar celebration as we did last year. In order to keep people as safe as possible, the Kamloops & District Labour Council Annual Labour Day Picnic for 2021 has moved online.

Kids, families, and individuals are invited to participate in our Labour Day Scavenger Hunt and take our Canadian Labour Quiz to be entered into a random draw using the Wheel of Labour.
