The Kamloops & District Labour Council will observe the 2026 National Day of Mourning on Tuesday, April 28 at 6:00 pm at the Kia Lounge in the Sandman Centre in Kamloops.

Each year on April 28, workers, families, unions, and community members come together to remember those who have been killed, injured, or made ill because of workplace incidents and occupational disease. The National Day of Mourning is also a time to renew our shared commitment to safer workplaces and to the protection of all workers.

Last year’s ceremony was held at Pleasant Street Cemetery due to the fire at our usual venue, St. Andrews on the Square. As that venue remains unavailable this year, the 2026 event will instead be held at the Kia Lounge in the Sandman Centre.

The Kamloops & District Labour Council invites workers, affiliates, families, and members of the public to join us as we remember those we have lost and reflect on the ongoing importance of health and safety in every workplace.
