KDLC Labour Day Picnic in McDonald Park

The Kamloops & District Labour Council is proud to announce the 2026 Annual Labour Day Picnic, taking place on Labour Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at McDonald Park in North Kamloops.
This family-friendly event brings together workers, unions, and the wider community to celebrate the contributions of working people across Kamloops and beyond.
Highlights of the day include:
- BBQ & refreshments with proceeds going to charity
- Live music and entertainment
- Kids’ activities, games, and face painting
- Community information booths hosted by local unions and partner organizations
- Prize draws and giveaways
“Labour Day is a time to recognize the contributions of working people and to reflect on the importance of fairness, equity, and respect in our workplaces and our community,” said Lois Rugg, President of the Kamloops & District Labour Council. “We invite everyone in Kamloops to join us at McDonald Park to celebrate together.”
The event is free and open to the public, thanks to the support of local unions and community partners. Families, neighbours, and friends are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an afternoon of food, fun, and solidarity.
