KDLC Teams Up with Local Unions to Sponsor Unique Community Event: Wiener Dog Races at Kamloops Storm Hockey Game

The Kamloops & District Labour Council (KDLC) in collaboration with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 993 (IBEW 993), International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 (IUOE 115), and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 3500 (CUPE 3500) are excited to announce their sponsorship for a special Labour Night at an upcoming Kamloops Storm hockey game. The highlight of the evening will be an entertaining and family-friendly Wiener Dog Race.

This unique event is more than just a celebration of local labour and community spirit; it’s a testament to the unity and solidarity among different labour organizations in Kamloops. The KDLC, IBEW 993, IUOE 115, and CUPE 3500 are proud to sponsor this light-hearted competition as a way to engage with the community and offer a fun, memorable night for families and hockey fans alike.

The Wiener Dog Races will take place during the intermission of the Kamloops Storm game, promising a delightful spectacle as these spirited dogs dash across the ice. The event promises to be an engaging and exciting break from the on-ice action, suitable for attendees of all ages.

In addition to the races, the Labour Night will feature interactive booths and presentations from each of the sponsoring organizations. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the vital work these unions do in supporting workers and contributing to the local economy and community welfare.
