2025 Kamloops Day of Mourning Ceremony Photos

April 29, 2025

The Kamloops & District Labour Council proudly hosted a powerful and deeply meaningful Day of Mourning ceremony to pay tribute to workers who have been killed, injured, or made ill because of their work.

Workers, families, unions, and community leaders stood together in solidarity, remembering those we have lost and committing ourselves to fight even harder for the living. The ceremony was a solemn reminder that behind every injury, every fatality, and every illness is a person, a family, and a community forever changed.

We would like to sincerely thank all those who attended and took the time to reflect on the sacrifices that workers have made. Your presence sends a strong message: one injury or death on the job is one too many.

The Day of Mourning is not just about reflection. It is a call to action. We must continue to push for stronger safety protections, better enforcement of workplace standards, and a future where no worker is put at unnecessary risk.

We mourn for the dead. We fight for the living.

Thank you for standing with us.
