Kamloops Storm Teddy Bear Toss Night Sponsored by KDLC Unions a Huge Success
The Kamloops & District Labour Council (KDLC) and its affiliated unions—IUOE 115, CUPE 900, CUPE 3500, and IBEW 993—were thrilled to sponsor the Kamloops Storm Hockey Team’s annual Teddy Bear Toss Night. This year’s event was nothing short of spectacular, with a sold-out crowd and festive fun for the entire community.
From the moment fans stepped into the arena, the holiday spirit was alive and well. Santa Claus and his cheerful entourage were on hand, snapping photos with kids and spreading Christmas cheer. Stormy, the beloved Kamloops Storm mascot, kept the energy high by banging his drum and posing for pictures with fans of all ages.
Throughout the night, there were exciting prize draws with fantastic prizes, adding even more excitement to an already electric atmosphere.
The highlight of the night came in the first period when the Kamloops Storm scored their first goal. Fans erupted with cheers as they showered the ice with a storm of teddy bears. The stuffed toys, donated by generous attendees, will go to local charities to bring joy to children in need this holiday season.
This labour-sponsored event brought the community together in the spirit of giving and fun, showcasing the positive impact of unions working together to support local initiatives.
The KDLC would like to thank the Kamloops Storm, all the unions involved, and every fan who attended and contributed to making this event such a memorable and meaningful success. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Teddy Bear Toss Night!
